The court of appeal has ruled that periodical payments for future care costs for the seriously injured should align with care workers' salaries rather than the RPI.
The case of Thompstone v thameside upheld the decision that payments should be calculated in line with the Annual survey of hours of earnings relating to home carers and care attendants rather than the RPI.
The decision is to go to the Lords for a ruling so watch this space!
