Personal Injury Litigation Caroline has conducted personal injury litigation since qualifying in 1979. Her experience covers a vast range and type of claim from catastrophic injuries to fatalities. Claims handled have substantially included Employer liability, Occupier liability, Disease, RTA, Fraud, Criminal injuries, Criminal damage and Commercial. The most recent serious personal injury Fraud claim handled by Caroline was successfully defended in the High Court following a split trial hearing of 11 days duration. The Fraud that the claimant was attempting to perpetrate was against an insurer. The Plaintiff suffered serious injuries including brain damage, but a meticulous forensic investigation resulted in a successful defence, defeating a claim in excess of one million pounds in value. Conveyancing Caroline acts for a large housing association in acquisitions and disposals to include commercial and domestic property, joint ventures and security work. The commercial transactions involved, have included transfers of businesses as going concerns, business tenancy issues and employment issues arising from transfers. The majority of the work involved has included large scale developments to include housing schemes, developments for sale and co-ownership. The conveyancing has been province-wide and has included more recently land acquisition environmental issues relating to contamination and landfill. Bank Security Work Caroline has been actively involved in security work for banking institutions for private and corporate clients. Security cover has varied from domestic to commercial properties. Employment Caroline has acted for private individuals, small businesses and larger employers for both Respondent and Claimants to include representation of a trade union organisation.
